Lion Fish

The lion fish belongs to the family of the scorpion fish. This colorful fish is usually found in coral reefs, particularly in waters hovering in caves or in the vicinity of cracks. Lion-fish are venomous fin spines that can produce painful puncture wounds.

The fish have elongated dorsal fin spines and enlarged pectoral fins, and each species has a particular model as zebra stripes. A person who aims to be one of the strong spine immediately felt sharp pain. Rapid swelling of the affected body area develops along the possibility of movement of the limbs very difficult. Lion-fish stings can cause nausea, difficulty breathing, paralysis, seizures and collapse.

Even death can occur in exceptional circumstances. Most of the people to survive despite the great pain. The poison in the spines remains active for days, so even discarded spines should be treated with caution. It may take several months for a full recovery and, if the sting is left untreated, can develop gangrene.
