Glossodoris cruentus is considered to be uncommon on Okinawa. Although I have collected 10 specimens since collecting the first on 24 April, 1984, quite a few others have been photographed and, or, seen over this period of time. This attractively colored Glossodoris is quite distinctive with its red-spotted white marginal band; there are no Okinawan opisthobranchs that can be confused with this distinctive chromodorid.
